About Us
Diversity Films CIC is a community interest company working in communities to nurture, train and develop a new generation of filmmakers. We are a creatively led organisation based in Woodlands, Glasgow and aim to work with a diverse range of people through our new filmmakers development projects, to build capacity of local people in different communities in Glasgow and to equip them with the skills, motivation and opportunity to create short films and digital content for multi-platform distribution and exhibition, including local community screenings, TV and internet broadcast, mobile phones and international cinema screens.
Diversity Films was established in April 2007 by a group of experienced media professionals with the initial aim of building filmmaking skills, resources and creative confidence in communities which may benefit from the film, television, video and multimedia experience we can offer.
After completing successful pilot work in 2007 and 2008 through the Community Filmmakers Project (supported by Scottish Screen, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and 4Talent) we launched the brand new filmmaking training and mentoring programe in the Greater Easterhouse, Scotstounhill and Govanhill areas of Glasgow (supported by Scottish Screen, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Scottish Arts Council)
We are currently working on a new national filmmaking programme called Starting Block, details of which will be announced in Spring 2010.
Diversity Films also provide equipment and filmmaking training and mentoring on programmes, projects and at events run by community, charitable and educational organisaions.
