Pretty Dyana

dir. Boris Mitic, 2004, Serbia, 45'

An intimate look at Gypsy refugees in a Belgrade suburb who make a living by transforming Citroen's classic 2CV and Dyana cars into Mad Max-like recycling vehicles which they use to collect cardboard, bottles and scrap metal. These modern horses mean hope, style and freedom for their crafty owners but the police doesn't always find these strange vehicles funny...

Iraq in Fragments

dir. James Longley, 2006, USA, 94'

Iraq in Fragments illuminates post-war Iraq in three acts, building a picture of a country pulled in different directions by religion and ethnicity.
