JANUARY 2008
EAST BY NORTH EAST - THE MOVIE, 2007, 32'
WORLD PREMIERE

Photos: Left to Right - Abigail and Marie of Diversity Films - The Auditorium fills up - A satisfied audience leaving, we think! - Cass and Sharon, two of the ExNE editors.
ExNE - the Movie hits the
right note in Easterhouse
Thursday January 17th saw the premiere of the musical extravaganza ExNE - The Movie take place at Platform at the Bridge. A perfect antedote to the dismal Scottish weather, the energy and anticipation in the audience of participants, project staff, family and friends was enormous. After watching the Diversity Films Short Film Showcase (featuring Water Damage by Kingsway Eye and the Weekend Film School shorts) and Bedroom Radio, a documentary made by Diversity's own Doug Aubrey and Marie Olesen, finally we unveiled the product of eight months filming and hours of editing over 38 reels of material to the audience of over 120 people.
ExNE - The Movie went down a storm. The audience loved it, seeing themselves up on the big screen and singing along to all the songs written by the young people involved in ExNE. We can't get the songs out of our heads now and we'll certainly miss being involved in this project. Hopefully ExNE will be back next year to repeat its amazing success.
As well as producing the half-hour documentary, Diversity Films will be making a DVD of the project, with lots of fantastic extras including 'Best Of' concert footage, animated tracks from the ExNE CD and more.
